So you've downloaded a JumpBox application and have the zip file, but what do you do next to use it? This set of instructions walks you through the process from having the zip file on your desktop to actually using the application. Depending on speed of your computer for unzipping the files, these steps take approximately 2-5 minutes.
- Extract the zip file of the JumpBox application you downloaded to your desktop. If you're using a PC you'll need a free utility like Winzip to extract the files. Double-click the zip file to do so:

- Be patient while it extracts the files. This process can take up to five minutes to complete. Once finished you should have a directory of the following files:
- If you're using Parallels, double-click the .pvs file. VMware users, double-click the .vmx file. If you are using Parallels v3 and above you'll see a prompt to convert the JumpBox to run on the latest version. This process is immediate but will make the JumpBox unable to run under VMware.

- You should now see a boot screen that looks like this:

- When the JumpBox is finished booting, it will display the screen below indicating it's ready to be used. Note the IP address that it's using.

- Type the IP into a browser. You'll get a dialogue indicating it's using an unsigned certificate for SSL - this this is normal. We use SSL so clear text passwords are not sent over the network- the connection itself is secure. Click Ok.

- On first usage you will be prompted with the following configuration page. Set a unique name of the JumpBox as you wish for it to appear on your network, give it an administrator email address to which it can send notifications and specify your time zone, enter an administration password, agree to the EULA and click "configure appliance":

- You'll get a "barber pole" dialogue while it configures the new settings:

- Almost done.. you should see the following screen indicating it was successfully set up:

- Follow the admin link to the main login page of your application and you will be presented with the appropriate login page depending on which application you downloaded:

which vmware do I purchase or download for jumpbox.
help
unable to load the IP
I'm using XP service pack 2 and downloaded 'TWiki JumpBox Release 1.0.2' and the latest VMware player (2.0.0 build-45731).
I'm able to boot the vmx file and to get the jumpbox console. But when I'm trying to load the IP addresses (both Application & Management) in the browser, the page cannot be found (both on Firefox and IE).
help appreciated.
