Restore

A JumpBox can be restored to an earlier state if you made a backup. This functionality requires that you first register your JumpBox.

  1. Click the backups icon on the admin control panel.

  2. On the Backups page click the "Restore" link at the top.

  3. This takes you to a screen where you specify the location of your backup files. If your backup files reside on a Mac use the NFS configuration options and enter the same settings you used in setting up backups.

If your backups are stored on a PC, choose the Samba option and enter the settings used in configuring backups.

Then click "Fetch list of Backups."

  4. Select the timestamp of the version from which you wish to restore. Enter a new admin password that will replace the old one and click "Restore." Accept the confirmation dialogue. *Note- this procedure will overwrite your existing data.

  5. On completion of these steps you should see the following message indicating that your data has been restored successfully.

YES

Terri,
yes the backup/restore feature is independent of the host OS. Not only that but it's also independent of the virtualization software as well so your friend could be using Xen on Linux or VMware server on Windows and you could make a backup from within your JumpBox running under Parallels on a Mac and it will restore just fine into any of the other environments.

JumpBox on PC work on Mac?

I've performed a backup for Sugar and downloaded it to my local drive. If someone is on a Mac, using the same version of Sugar but on a Mac, will they be able to take my backup and restore it on their machine?

I did the backup through JumpBox admin.

Thank you!
Terri
