Using the restore feature you can take the previously-saved state of a JumpBox and inject it into a new one. The restore mechanism can also be used to move data from a previous version of an application into an newer version. Occasionally there are application-specific changes that may introduce issues to the upgrade process but these will always be documented in the readme file for each JumpBox. The restore process requires that you've already made a backup either via Mac, PC, Amazon S3 or via the web browser. We'll first look at the method for restoring from a network share and then show you the simple method to restore from a file on your local harddrive over HTTP.
- Click the "Backups" icon in the admin portal.

- Click the "Restore" tab.

- In this step you'll point the system to your backup file. Depending on which backup mechanism you used, your preferences should already be configured. The nice thing is the backup file itself is identical whichever method you use so for example you could backup to a network share and then grab that file, bring it to your desktop and restore over HTTP. Same goes for Amazon S3.

- Select the backup from which you wish to restore. Set a new password and click "Restore." Your data should now be imported and ready to go.

- The other option for restoring is to upload the backup file via your browser. Simply choose the last option, locate the file on your computer, set a new password and click "Restore."
