My company is doing a review of all our backup procedures. I'm using the backup page from the admin interface for our OTRS Jumpbox (ie. https://our-otrs-server:3000/backup). I just noticed the restore page (ie. https://our-otrs-server:3000/backup/restore) and was wondering if there was detailed documentation on the Restore procedure?
I've poked through the file that is being backed up, and it looks complete, so I just need to know the entire Restore procedure for our notes.
Thanks.
If I want to turf a JumpBox
You will need to use the same key issued to you and register using that same key. At this point, a Basic Registration entitles you to one running Registered JumpBox and a Silver Registration entitles you to 5 running registered JumpBoxes of that same type. The keys will register any JumpBox of the specific type released before the exiration of the key. The licensing explicitly permits the simultaneous running of two registered JumpBoxes for upgrade/backup/restore purposes.
Does that answer your question? You will just have to paste the key in and restore and you are good to go.

I think that covers
I think that covers everything I need to add to our corporate documentation. Thanks.
If I want to turf a JumpBox
If I want to turf a JumpBox and restart fresh with a new one, does the License Key transfer to the new one automatically?
Backups
We have a tutorial on performing a JumpBox restore. If you want to be certain, you can try it on another JumpBox. Just unzip and boot a new JumpBox and go through the restore process with that. The restore process doesn't change any network settings so it should be safe to have both running at the same time.
This is an advantage of how we do our backups, the cost of restoring into a fresh environment is very low. You just have to be able to run an additional JumpBox.
