Backup and RestorSubmitted by teresaka on Tue, 06/03/2008 - 4:24pm.I've performed a backup for SugarCRM 5.0 and downloaded it to my local drive. If someone is on a Mac, using the same version of Sugar but on a Mac, will they be able to take my backup and restore it on their machine? I did the backup through JumpBox admin. Thank you! |

Backup and Restor
Hi Terri,
Yes, they should be able to. As long as everyone is using SugarCRM5 on the JumpBox and the backups and restores are made through the JumpBox admin portal.
The one caveat is the SugarCRM 5 JumpBox is still in beta so you may encounter a bug, though we don't have any known bugs on that function with that app.
I suggest trying the direct download backup and the direct upload restore. It should be a convenient way of accomplishing this.
Or actually, if both JumpBoxes are on the same network, you can try the new direct JumpBox to JumpBox restore feature. On the JumpBox running on the Mac where you want to move the SugarCRM installation to ... register the JumpBox, go to the restore page in the JumpBox admin portal, then Choose "Import from another JumpBox", fill in the IP address and admin password of the other JumpBox along with the new desired admin password and click restore. This should copy the SugarCRM5 data to the target JumpBox.
So go ahead and try it and let us know how it works. We appreciate any feedback you can provide.
