Apache Authentication?

so, I want to enable Apache Authentication...

Is there a handy way to do this? Or do I need to log into the box and manually configure httpd.conf?

I am using Jumpbox specifically so that I don't have to deal with the file system and conf files. Can someone give a dummies guide on how to add apache authentication to the TWiki?
