Hi q1w2e3r4t5,
Some of the applications allow you to set an outbound SMTP server in their administrative interface (vTiger does, for instance). The others can be handled by configuring postfix to relay to the server of choice. This, of course, requires that you register your jumpbox and enable ssh to get in and change that configuration.
We are likely to include this in our setup and configuration tools at some point, but I am not sure when.

I've had a quick look at a couple of your products. I like the quick and easy setup, but each app seems to require external email services, or direct access to the internet. I'm looking to use the products in-house so would like the option of using an existing mail server as a relay, as the corporate firewall blocks port 25.
We'll definitely be releasing an appliance to do SVN at some point. Right now we're more focused on maturing our appliance management platform, once that is further along we'll be adding a number of new appliances fairly rapidly.

I would love to see a simple CVS or SVN. I have been doing more custom php programming recently, and running into issues with version conflicts (my own fault of course). I have thought about building my own SVN Image, but if you want a project it is all yours.
What I would like to see is 3 main features.
1. Web interface for version tracking and history
Find out the last time a file was change, by who and view it etc
2. Easy interface with standard development IDE
Also need to be able to access the files from the IDE.
3. Automated backup, possibly to CD or FTP?
If I knew my projects where getting uploaded every night offsite I would probably sleep much better.
Let me know your thoughts on this project, if it is something that Jumpbox would like to undertake because I will put my efforts on hold.
If there was an existing open source module that could do this we could integrate it, unfortunately developing that add-on is outside the scope of what we can provide right now. What we could provide is a separate JumpBox based around something like Active Collab. Over time we would then look at integrating the two JumpBoxes together to make them work better as a whole.

You have both joomla and vtiger jumpbox downloads but what would be realy exciting would be a combo box or a variety of ready to go combo boxes.
I would suggest a combo box with both the Joomla CMS ecommerce version running the Virtumart shopping component combined with the Vtiger CMS with all the options pre-installed and working.
Another version running the Joomla/oscommerce version combined with Vtiger but I personally prefer Virtumart over oscommerce.

I don't know if this is at all possible, but a Jumpbox for Sun's Grid Engine Master controller. See: http://gridengine.sunsource.net/ The Grid Engine is Open Source but seems to require a bit more knowledge to install and setup than most folks probably have.
Companies could use the Grid Engine as a scheduler to execute batch and interactive jobs on servers and desktops throughout their organization. A Jumpbox seems like a natural for this because a a Master controller also has (usually) shadow and backup controllers so a VM would be perfect.
There is no reason not to make a JumpBox for Commercial software, and we have, they just don't get included in the library. Since commercial software licensing does not permit us to freely distribute the software, the vendor gets to decide how it gets distributed.

Thanks for the response. I was looking through the list of JumpBox applications that you have and it very impressive. The JumpBox for the Nagios 3.x Network Monitoring System would be an excellent compliment to the SGE Controller too.
How about integrating a complex planning & management module, with which you can plan everything: your own projects based on tasks/milestones (e.g. software development), projects which involve resources (like: co-workers, machines, goods) based on and linked with certain criteria (manpower, machine availability, supply of goods, ...)
I know there's a lot of planning software on the web, but they mostly fit for exactly one purpose. And most these programs are neither free for corporate use, nor do they support integration into an existing data environment (if they support multiple users at all).

I have registered the vtiger Jumpbox and it works great.
But the HelpDesk features of vTiger are still lacking.
If you could offer an OTRS Jumpbox appliance I think it'd be very well received...

Some simple intranets would be great. Something like Magnolia (Community Edition), Mindquarry or Alfresco.

How about Zimbra?

Cool thanks,
One issue I have is that I can't register for some reason (see Wordpress Support Forum), so don't have shell access yet :(

Great looking project... somewhat difficult to setup if a person isn't very familiar with Java.
Hope you will consider creating a JumpBox for Exo.

New Application
I'd love to see a jumpbox with Instiki installed. It is a nice easy to use wiki.
Installed with Jumpbox it would be even easier to deploy than the current two step process.
Request TestLink appliance
I would be great if you created an Jumpbox appliance for TestLink w/ option to bundle it with Bugzilla or Mantis.
Oracle XE + latest APEX
Definitely, Oracle XE + newest APEX would be great Jumpbox.
RT by Best Practical?
I'd buy that one...

What about commercial software trials
Seems to me that a JumpBox for commercial software trial versions would be very useful and beneficial. Why not?

Just wanted to update on this
Just wanted to update on this request. Doing a little research, it looks like there may be something along these line right now. I found:

I'll post back when I find out if there's an existing image out there.

Thanks
Might be a stretch given our general user base but I've made a note of it. If other people see this and find it interesting definitely let us know.
