Can I purchase a lower tier JumpBox Open subscription and upgrade it later?

Sure. Our goal is to make your purchase decision as comfortable as possible. If that means "wading in" at a lower tier and then upgrading your subscription later that's perfectly OK.

The price for the upgrade will depend on the amount of time that has been consumed by you current subscription. The easiest thing to do is to just contact us and we'll tell you how much it will cost or just keep reading and do some simple calculationg.

We basically translate the annual price into a monthly price and then credit you for the remaining months on your subscription while charging you for the same number of months for the new subscription. Here's an example.

You've bought a basic subscription for $299 per year and decide to upgrade to a Plus at $499 per year after using your subscription for 3 months.

We first need to get the per month cost for each subscription.

Plus: $499/12 = $41.60 per month
Basic: $299/12 = $24.90 per month

You've used 3 months so you have 9 remaining.

$24.90 * 9 = $224.25

And you'll have 9 months to consume on your new subscription.

$41.60 * 9 = $374.40

So subtracting the two will give you the cost of the upgrade.

$374.40 - 224.25 = $150.15 to upgrade

After upgrading, you'll still have 9 months on your subscription and the renewal will be at the full annual rate for the new tier.
