Yes, it's an issue caused by the iframe we put around the applicaton in this release. In the next release it will be fixed and there will also be an easy way to get rid of that navigation overall if you register the JumpBox.

Has anyone looked further into this? It would be nice to be able to use the custom fields, but I cannot find fixes on other sites for this.

In version 0.9 if you try to create a custom field in the Settings area, you will get an error dialog box "Field Type is not selected". This error is not in version 0.8.
