Redmine admin: Bad Gateway

This error has started showing up more frequently when I attempt to go to the admin page for my redmine jumpbox:

Oops! There's been a problem with the JumpBox
503 Internal Server Error: Bad Gateway

You made a request that this server was unable to handle due to an internal problem, specifically an inability to contact an internal application server. You can try again in a few seconds.

Rebooting the vm from the vmware console does the trick but I'm finding that this jumpbox server requires reboots at a frequency that rivals a Windows 95 box...

Redmine admin: Bad Gateway

Sounds like there is some underlying trouble on this JumpBox. How much RAM has been allocated to the JumpBox? By default it is given 256MB. It could be possible that you need to allocate more. Could you SSH in as admin and run "free -m" a few times while simultaneously using redmine and give me an idea of what it says?
