If you have the VMWare server console connected to the JumpBox you can hit alt-F2 or alt-F3 to switch to a login prompt.
If you're having port conflicts with a web server running outside the JumpBox then possibly the reason you can't access it is because the IP it's using isn't accessible from outside the server. That would happen if you're running NAT networking or host only networking. If that's the case, I'm not sure changing the port in the JumpBox is the right course of action.

ok, feeling totally noobish now.
I typed just the ip adress (that shows in the jumpbox vmware)
Getting Connection refused. now, wondering if my registration was recognized correctly? how to check that? (my end it shows that i am registered) i have ssh checked, where i can set pw.
I have physical access to the server, ANY way to login on the jumpbox panel, and get at the config files?
Testing went great, but as soon as i moved to the server for a more rigorous test, i ran into the port problem, the Webserver being on the same box, putting a damper on it. :)
Eventually, i will stumble upon the solution. Thanks for trying to help me!

crapo. i got putty. not finding the host. (or just hangs there)
ip (on jumpbox) says .0.9 so if i was trying to ssh into it... is it set to port 22? so... htp:// 0.9 port 22 anything else i would have to setup in Putty to have it work?
You need an ssh client for windows. Putty is one of the more popular ones. You would connect using the SSH protocol to the IP address for the JumpBox and then login as user admin with the password you set on setup. That will get you into the system. From there it's a Linux environment with the Apache web server. If you don't know any linux it might be tough to go from that point.
Yes, If you register the JumpBox you can enable shell access to change anything you want about it. Shell access is enabled from the Account tool in the JumpBox admin interface.

You just give Putty the IP address and port which is 22. It's not a URL so no http://.
