I would like to know if is possible to use the joomla jumpbox to install another php app.

The LAMPd or LAPPd JumpBoxes are intended for that use.

ok, but the idea is to add an application out of joomla, but using joomla as a side app. not using one appliance for joomla and other for the separate php app.
