I have the same problem. The reason is that I am in a more complex network environment than the plain vanilla one that JumpBox assumes.
As I am behind a firewall/proxy and need to be able to tell the JB server where to throw packets that are to go outside of our WAN.
I either need to be able to enter some simple routing info to the JumpBox. i.e. tell it that my WAN default gateway is X and my 0.0.0.0 gateway (gateway of last resort) is my firewall. Or I need to be able to tell it the address of a proxy to use for outbound HTTP.
Hello dg073,
I just came across a bug that could be related to your error. If you were using a static IP address you may have entered only a single DNS server, which we didn't handle correctly in this release. If this is the case, try entering the same IP address of the DNS server in both fields.
This will be fixed in upcoming releases. But I think the above workaround should work.
That looks like the JumpBox doesn't have DNS name servers. By default it reads those from the DHCP server that provides its IP address, but some servers may not hand out that information. You might try setting a static IP and manually specifying the DNS servers.
I got a licence key but when I try to register I get:
"Unable to connect to JumpBox update server: getaddrinfo: Name or service not known"
What do I need to do?
Cannot register Jumpbox
i also cannot register using the info that was send to me via email.
Cannot register Jumpbox
The next release will support configuration of a proxy for outbound HTTP.
