Hi,
I recently downloaded a JumpBox that had Gallery 2 with a 10GB virtual data drive. I think it would be cool to be able to specify the size of data drive that I need before I download the JumpBox.
Example: I have 50,000 photos that I need to install in a Gallery 2 installation. I assume this will take 20GB, so just to be sure, I actually want a Jump Box with a 35GB virtual data drive. I choose 35GB as the size of my virtual data drive, and presto! a JumpBox is created with that size of virtual data drive...
It would be cool if I could at least have the option of 10, 20, 50, 100 GB virtual data drive sizes...
Thanks,
Joshua
Very interesting, thanks for
You're right, that would be cool and in fact I think that web developers are already working on that. I recently read an article on cloud computing security, that's how I learned about their projects.
Create a JumpBox with user defined hard drive size...
Hi Joshua,
First off, I totally agree with you. That would be pretty cool. Its not likely to happen in the near future, but someday we might have something like that. In the mean time, we have a manual procedure you can try before the first time you boot a JumpBox:
http://wiki.jumpbox.com/doc/runtime/faq/larger_storage_disk
These instructions happen to be for VMware, but the similar steps of deleting the storage disk, then adding a larger disk in its place before first boot should work for any platform.
