Hi. I'm using JumpBox for Joomla 1.5.11. The OS I used was as per the video (Linux;other).
Now that i'm happy with what i want, how do i transfer whatever i have to a remote server? I may only have access to the ftp server.
I'm rather new to this, i'd appreciate if anyone helping be gentle with the jargon. :) I'm willing to learn. :)
Thank you
Thank you so much. For newbies who wondered about the same thing, this is what i did:
1. Downloaded JoomlaPack at http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-&-security/backup/1606/de.... Its free (please donate because its really good) and its good. Click on the download button and download the main files. Don't forget the .pdf because you really need it.
2. Download Kickstart which is included in the download section of the above link.
3. Check out http://docs.joomla.org/Category:Tips_and_tricks
Good luck!
After JumpBox... Then?
Well, some people run there JumpBoxes on the internet, either on a leased server they control, in Amazons EC2, with one of the VMware ESX hosting companies like Genesis' JumpBox Hosting. If you have Joomla all configured they way you want it and are going to move it to a JumpBox somewhere, you can simply use the JumpBox Backup/Restore functionality shown in the Backup section of the JumpBox Wiki. Make a backup of your finished Joomla and restore it to an empty JumpBox at your hosting provider.
If you are NOT using a JumpBox for hosting, you can move the database and any images, themes to your shared hosting or other Joomla hosting environment. There are probably plugins or perhaps even built in Joomla functionality to export the site. There seems to be a number of backup extensions for Joomla:
