Hi you can use the mediawiki's export function but then you will have to manually move the contents of the mediawiki images/ directory to the JumpBox directory: /var/data/mediawiki/images.

i've been able to use xml export/import but it didn't include any images?

If you register your JumpBox you will be able to enable SSH and then you can do what you please. The JumpBox backup and restore feature is really only designed to backup and restore to/from a JumpBox at this point.

Your best bet would be to register the JumpBox and enable SSH then use dumpBackup.php and importDump.php in /var/www/mediawiki/maintenance.

Quite right kstaken, but I'm in the process of migrating to the jump box also. I think what willie44 is trying to get at is migrating to the Jumpbox is problematic, aside from the problem of migrating to a new MediaWiki version.

I've configured backups for the jumpbox in hope that I will then be able to browse the backup snapshot and modify it to get my content in there. I'm pushing it though I realise.

I can't SSH to the Jumpbox, so how do I get my XML export created using MediaWiki's php backup script into the Jumpbox?

Whether that is possible or not depends on exactly what version of MediaWiki you have and how much the database structure has changed. You should check the MediaWiki project site to see if there's a path to upgrade from your version to the version included in the JumpBox.
