We are currently running 1.1.10 and has installed a newer version 1.1.12.
When we try to restore the settings from 1.1.10 to 1.1.12, we go the following error.

I just restored 1.1.10 backup
I just restored 1.1.10 backup to 1.1.12 so it is possible.

That should be possible. Make sure that the backup filename is correct:

I checked the file name and is correct according to the wiki. Still the same problem.
Vesion 1.1.10 was run using VMware workstation. The new version 1.1.12 is run on hyper V server. Does that matter

Should not matter.
How big is your backup?
Did you try a different browse? What browser are you using?
