Upgrade older WordPress jumpbox and then migrate hosts

I have a WordPress JumpBox that is on JumpBox vesrion 1.1.13 which is running WordPress 2.8.1

I now want to upgrade to a jumpbox running WordPress 3.0+ but have tried running the JumpBox Backup and Resotre it to the latest jumpbox. Most of the data itself comes over but the site looks horrible. I'm assuming I need to make a few intermiedate upgrades to 2.8.6 then 2.9.2 before I attempt to go for 3.0.1, does anyone know where I can find the older jumpbox downloads to make these intermediate upgrades to get closer?

Also has anyone tried migrating thier wordpress database and data from a Jumpbox to a hosted webserver platform running cPanel or some other word press host? If you have any suggestions, please let me know because I want to use the jumpbox for dev work and then migrate sites off to a new host later.

Thanks,
Bill

Well, the issue is probably less related to upgrading through intermediate versions than it is related to customizations or plugins you may have made use of. Do you rely on plugins of some sort? Do those plugins work with the newer version of Wordpress?

There is no reason you can't follow the standard Wordpress backup and restore process to move your data and files to a new host (JumpBox or non-JumpBox). You will just have to know how to access the database in the JumpBox.
