Hi everybody.
I am a new user of JumpBox and I want simply to ask if is it possible to run Joomla on JumpBox exactly as we do on a local server, which means to upgrade Joomla, install new extensions and new languages and taking backups using the famous component Akeeba.
I am waiting for your answer.THANKS A LOT.
I am new on JumpBox
Hi,
You would have full shell access to the application and can do anything you want with it. However, sometimes there are assumptions we make when creating an application that might complicate certain things for users. And plugins can cause trouble when it comes to upgrading, but that is true on a non-JumpBox.
The supported upgrade process is what we refer to as as "rip and replace", that is we backup up the application data and import it into a newer version of the JumpBox. This leaves your original JumpBox pristine and untouched and gives you time to evaluate how the new version works for you. The instructions can be found here:
http://wiki.jumpbox.com/doc/runtime/faq/upgrade
Each application has its own wiki page with information about how its setup, for instance here is the page for Joomla 1.5:
http://wiki.jumpbox.com/doc/app/joomla15
The wiki contains most of our documentation.
Austin
Thanks
Thank you very much Austin
