I agree. A mono dev box would be a nice thing to have.
oh, I guess I should qualify that..
since this is not web oriented, if it could be outfitted with some kind of terminal server or VNC then it makes it so that you can remote in & do your work.

ubuntu, mono, monodevelop, an unzip utility, svn client, & bluetooth program(if not already installed with mono)
oh yes, and configured with at least 1 serial port
SUSE had one for D/L but it was too fully loaded. I'd want it on as small of a box as possible.
