Check and make sure your

Check and make sure your backup location is writable by the user you are using to connect to it. You may be getting this error because the user you have specified cannot write to the backup share.

What settings are you using

What settings are you using when you configure your backup (excluding your username and password obviously). For an SMB type mount, there is a bug that prevents you from backing up to a subdirectory in your share. So you will have to back up to the root of the share. I am not sure if it would generate this error in that case though.

Ok, you should be able to shut off the backup checking by running the following command after SSHing into the JumpBox as admin.

sudo sed -i -e 's/^.*mounttype.*$/<mounttype\/>/' /jumpbox/state.xml

Once you have done that, you should be able to change the backup settings.

Also, I have tried something similar to what you suggest to reproduce this without luck. I will try again.

Oh, also are you using Samba or NFS?

JumpBox Backup Application error (Rails)

Maybe a workaround an be to reset the backup settings of the JumpBox?

May you tell me where the settings are stored?

JumpBox Backup Application error (Rails)

Good question.
Probably NFS (the JumpBox was on a OS X Host and saved the backup over network on a machine running Windows XP).

As I described, I transfered the configured JumpBox from one network to a other network.
The backup parameter from the first network (user, path) can not work on my new network environment.

Maybe a hint how you could reproducing my problem:

1. create a new windows login/user
2. create a new windows share
3. enter windows login and share in the JumpBox Backup area,
4. perform a backup
5. delete the windwos share
6. delete the windows user
7. try to open the JumpBox backup area to enter a new configuration.

Maybe the error will also appear at your system. I'm not sure. But this described how I have worked.

More details can follow.

Hello,

today I get an error at the JupBox administration website.
After open url http://myip:3000 and selecting the link "bakckup" the web page shows a side with an error:

"Application error (Rails)"

That's it.

All other links at the JumpBox administration website are working.

Yesterday I have configured the backup and also one backup was successfully mad.

I could not solve the problem.
I have restarted the JumpBox virutal machine, but the error is still there.
I use the application / vm Wordpress, beta 1.0 RC5.

Any hint? What is wrong?

Best regards,
