Hi Martin, A JumpBox is,
Hi Martin,
A JumpBox is, by default, configured to work on a network that automatically assigns IP addresses. This is true of most home or business networks. The fact that your JupmBox is showing an IP that begins with 169 indicates that it has not been assigned an IP address and it essentially made one up for itself.
So, if you are NOT connected to a network that assigns IP addresses, you can change the JumpBox network configuration so that is NAT rather than Bridged. How to do this depends on what virtualization software you are using. The down side of this is no one else will be able to access it. Only the computer that it is running on will be able to access it.
