Integrate "upload schema" into the managerSubmitted by whatever on Sat, 09/01/2007 - 2:07am.I've only checked out the joomla jb, so i can only assume that the others are like it. Without the ability to upload existing data, their value is limited. I realize that i should buy the license for full access, then i can do what i want. but i'm not inclined to do that without the ability to test the install before hand. currently all i can see is "it appears to work" letting free users upload a limited (5mb) database would give enuf for people to see how clean and speedy the installs are without giving up enuf to allow webmasters to migrate an entire userbase. |

Thanks for the input. As you found, where you run into limits with a free JumpBox is when you try to do advanced things like import an existing site, but that's a very complicated thing to do. There's usually more to it than just the database. Modules, themes, language files and so on must also be factored in. That becomes quite complex as you look at all the different applications that we support. Our goal is really to give new application users a very easy way to try these applications without having to go through the pain of installing all the components. I think we achieve that pretty well, but as we mature we'll probably revisit this and see if we can do some things to make it easier for existing application users to migrate to a JumpBox.
Thanks
