Importing database from Vtiger Windows

HI everybody.

We are looking at using Jumpbox for our office deployment of vTiger..however we currently are using vTiger under Windows.

We would need a way of importing our existing SQL information into the Jumpbox.

Is this possible?

vTiger has lots of doco about how to move to a new machine by just exporting and reimporting the SQL database which looks quite straight forward.

Just wondering if anybody has been able to do this using a Jumpbox?

Migrating from another

Migrating from another version might complicate matters. There are quite a few things that would need to be considered and that particular link is not really instructive enough to cover everything. I think this would be fairly challenging and your success would probably require a fair amount of time. So, if you want a nice easy to follow set of instructions that will get you what you want, I think you will be disappointed. If you want to do some work to get it done then maybe it will work out.

I could tell you the pieces of the puzzle JumpBox has influence over (configuration file locations, database users and passwords). But if the vTiger migration code simply fails, I may not be able to help.

Sorry to not be more positive, but so far, as I mentioned above, JumpBoxes are really targeted for fresh starts.

Importing database from Vtiger Windows

This should be possible but would require a registered JumpBox and some Linux command line ability. The JumpBox does not yet include a convenient way to import existing vTiger installations.

I haven't seen the documents you mention, if you post a link to them here, I can review them and maybe give you some pointers. The general procedure would be to dump the DB, copy that dump to the JumpBox, load that data, then copy any attachments your users may have added to the appropriate location in the JumpBox.

The url for the advise from the vTiger forums is

This looks reasonably doable but not sure if it would work in the Jumpbox world?

thanks again for your idea.
