migrating external subversion into trac/subversion jumpbox

Hi,
I have a source tree that is installed/hosted elsewhere. I would like to, if possible, get this migrated over to my own server in house and running on a Trac/Subversion jumpbox (maybe Redmine eventually). Is it possible to bring the latest revision over with the ability to view change history, differences, etc?

Thank you,
John

migrating external subversion into trac/subversion jumpbox

Hi John,
It may be possible to dump both SVN and Trac from a preexisting installation and import them into the Trac JumpBox. We have done precisely that with our Trac/SVN installation. It is possible that you may encounter difficulty when going from newer versions of Trac and Subversion to the JumpBox (with Trac 0.10.4 and SVN 1.3.1) and any extensions or plugins you may currently rely on may not be compatible with the version in the JumpBox.

The process would be manual and require a bit of work on your part and I could provide some guidance. I have discussed how to import SVN into a JumpBox. Importing from Trac would be roughly the same. There is a Trac to Redmine migration process, but I have not yet tried it so make no assurances.

This process is something we are likely to improve in the future and we are also likely to upgrade the SVN/Trac versions in the new year.

In general, if you were to dump JUST your subversion repository it should be fairly easy to import that into either the trac or the redmine JumpBoxes. It would contain all of your revisions just as before only the trac state would be left behind.
