Frequently Asked Questions

How does the billing work with the free trial?

You'll be asked to enter your payment information upon signing up. You won't actually be billed until the fifteenth day of your subscription. You can cancel anytime during the first two weeks and not be charged. If you're satisfied with the service then do nothing and on the fifteenth day your credit card will be charged. The system will then auto-charge your card once per month on that day each month thereafter. You can cancel your subscription at any time and you won't be billed again.

What happens to my account if I cancel during the free trial?

You lose access to downloads and the ability to run JumpBoxes on Amazon EC2. Your credit card will not be charged. If you later decide that you want to reinstate your account you'll need to contact us. Once an account has had a free trial and been canceled there's no self-serve way for a user to re-enable the free trial without contacting a human.

Can I cancel the service at any time?

Absolutely. You can cancel anytime during your 15 day trial and you won't be charged. After your trial ends you'll be automatically billed for the following month. Should you decide to cancel the service, your access will continue for the remainder of the current billing period. We do not issue refunds nor pro-rated reimbursements on accounts that have been canceled.

How does billing work with the JumpBox Cloud Pro service?

JumpBox Cloud Pro gives you access to run any JumpBox on the Amazon Web Services(AWS) Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) system. This service is delivered and billed by a third party (AWS). You can view your usage at anytime by logging into your AWS console and clicking on the "activity" tab.

What is an instance?

JumpBoxes are virtual machine images, so an instance is defined as a running copy of a JumpBox virtual machine. A production instance is considered to be a long running copy of a JumpBox that delivers services to users. Instances can be deployed on your local network or in the cloud on Amazon EC2 and they're considered the same.

All plans allow you to run an unlimited number of unsupported, not-for-resale instances. You also are not allowed to deploy and resell the JumpBoxes to other people.

Am I allowed to resell services to my customers using JumpBoxes?

A subscription entitles the owner the right to use JumpBoxes within his/her company. Subscriptions or individual JumpBoxes may not be resold without explicit permission from JumpBox, Inc.

Does my subscription include support?

If you think a JumpBox as released is broken in some way, we're always here to help no matter what subscription plan you have. For deeper issues in operational use you can take advantage of our Priority Support. Two support incidents are included with Gold subscriptions and are available for a fee of $150 per incident for other plans. For less critical support needs we also have public support forums as a free resource. For more information on our support services please visit our support page.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. For alternate payment methods contact sales.

How long does it take to activate my account?

Accounts are available immediately upon signup. Sometimes automated emails containing login links get trapped in spam filters though so if you don't receive an email right away try searching for "JumpBox" in your spam folder. For ensuring you receive timely communications from us please make sure your SPAM filtering allows email from jumpbox.com.

Will my JumpBoxes stop working if I let my subscription lapse?

There is nothing that will automatically shut the JumpBoxes off and your data won't be lost, but your license to use the JumpBox Runtime will end and you'll lose the other features provided by the service including updates to new JumpBoxes, access to new additions to the library and access to the JumpBox Cloud Pro service. At any time you're always free to move your data and any Open Source software we distribute to a non-JumpBox based installation.
