JumpBox Open includes everything in the JumpBox Open Library. Is there a FREE trial? We've made a number of JumpBoxes available for FREE download and you can get a free online trial of any other JumpBox by clicking the orange "Trial this JumpBox" button on the Library directory. Every JumpBox we release has a similar installation and management experience. Can I upgrade my planYes you can. We simply pro-rate the remaining months in your subscription toward the new plan. See here for more detail on how this works. What is a production instance?JumpBoxes are virtual machine images, so an instance is defined as a running copy of a JumpBox virtual machine. A production instance is considered to be a long running copy of a JumpBox that delivers services to users. Instances can be deployed on your local network or in the cloud on Amazon EC2 and they're considered the same. Plans come with a number of allowed production instances. You are free to choose the combination of JumpBoxes you want to run as those instances. If your plan has 5 instances you could run 5 different JumpBoxes or 5 of the same JumpBox or any combination there of, it's entirely up to you. What is a development instance? You can use any JumpBox in the Library for experimentation, development and testing. We also want to encourage exploration so that you can find new applications that help you get more done. To enable that, we give you access to the entire Library and allow you to experiment freely with JumpBoxes in non-production scenarios. So if you want to have one copy of each JumpBox running to experiment, develop or test with, you're free to do so. However, as soon as you start relying on a JumpBox for delivering services we consider that production use and that instance should be counted against the number of production instances included in your plan. Our hope is that you find so many great applications that you'll keep updating your plan to be able to run more and more production instances. What if I need more production instances than any plan allows?Contact us and we can create a custom plan tailored to your needs. Will my JumpBox instances stop working if my subscription ends? When your subscription ends JumpBox instances that have already been deployed will continue to function however you will lose the ability to download additional JumpBoxes and get new and updated JumpBoxes. If your plan includes access to JumpBox images for Amazon EC2 any running instances you have on the EC2 system will still function but you will also lose access to the AMIs used for launching new instances. If I purchase a subscription that includes multiple instances can I resell those instances? The licensed instances are for use within a single organization and not for resale to third parties. If you would like to resell or provide hosted JumpBoxes for your customers please contact us. What is Amazon EC2?Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is a cloud computing platform that allows you to dynamically provision virtual machines that run on Amazon's infrastructure. In simple terms think of it as a virtualization system that doesn't require you to own any hardware and that you pay for by the hour. It allows you to provision as many virtual machines as you want and you only pay for the time that you actually use it. It's a great tool for quickly launching publicly accessible JumpBox instances. You'll need an Amazon EC2 account and Amazon will charge you for the time that you use EC2 services. What payment methods do you accept? We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover as well as Paypal and Google Checkout. You can also pay by direct bank transfer with order fulfillment subject to delay while waiting for funds to clear. We will also accept purchase orders for orders $499 and above from accredited educational institutions, government agencies and publicly traded corporations only. If you would like to pay with a purchase order please contact us. How long does it take to receive my purchase? You'll typically receive your license keys and links to downloads within a few minutes of placing an order. However, if the email doesn't arrive right away things may be a little backed up. If you don't receive your order within 24 hours please contact us and we'll take care of it. If you pay using Google Checkout there is always a 15 minute delay imposed by the Google Checkout system. For best service please make sure your SPAM filtering allows email from jumpbox.com. |
