We've been using several JumpBoxes in development, staging and production environments as well as for infrastructure support for quite some time. We find the JumpBox for TRAC/Subversion particularly helpful, because we can build up and then burn down an environment at both ends of a project faster than installing SVN alone. The ability to fire up several peripheral services, such as OpenLDAP, a LAMP stack and an SCM store around a project in a VLAN with total isolation without the need to consume additional hardware is fantastic and much more "real world" than working on a project in a mixed environment.
Keep up the great work. The combination of turnkey installations in virtualization environments makes this a lifesaver.
Robert Goodyear - Founder BrandUpGetting a license from you guys a little over a month ago has been great for our small IT shop. Need wiki - done. Need cms - done. Need system monitoring - done. Need project tracking - done... you get the picture. I'm glad my sysadmin found you!
Tim Morris, IT Manager, UtahEven open source has a cost and it's time. JumpBox is the only mechanism out there to truly reduce the time committment to running open source software and does so with a very effective cost.
Kent Maxwell - Fabio Perini North America, Inc.Being a user of ESX 3.5 the 'canned' virtual machine approach seems both economic and apt. Putting up the open source SugarCRM on a dedicated server (albeit virtual) would require us to deploy another Windows 2003 server license (we have no open source (Linux etc) expertise), so the cost of a JumpBox makes economic sense.
David Williams - IS Manager in UKAwesome - I use the Joomla and Wordpress Jumpboxes and the experience has been beyond amazing. The ease of use and the pleasure of developing offline and being able to show to clients what they can expect without being tied to a network connection is a dream come true.
Eric W. Sarjeant - Software EngineerFrom development to live servers using virtual servers is the way to run a small to medium network. Using JumpBox will get you up and running very quickly. JumpBox also provides a nice web based control panel that will make maintaining your virtual network easy.
DPodgorski - IT Manager, Chicago"Implementing a JumpBox allowed SimulTrans to quickly implement Bugzilla for bug tracking. The ease of installation combined with the low hardware overhead required has opened up the ability to use applications that our customers appreciate and require without a significant investment of time and expense."
Adam Jones, COO, SimulTransI just wanted to say it's great stuff! The JumpBox WordPress works exactly as one would expect. I like the console screen with the details about my server and the standard web-based JumpBox administration adds consistency to VM administration.
Peter Spaepen - CEOIt's been great. I've successfully implemented the company intra-net using the Twiki Jumpbox. I'm not worried about the backups now. I don't even have to dedicate a machine just for the purpose. "Hardware independence is just the Cherry I need on the my tech sundae!"
Rohit Arora - IT/CAD ManagerWe love the cacti appliance!
Funny thing is we spent hours trying to get cacti configured correctly using open source apps on ubuntu…
Then we found jumpbox! It was the best money we’ve spent.
Fast, simple, and configured perfectly!
Patrick Guthrie - President Lompoc Phone and ComputerVery Good ... It makes everything a lot easier to install, backup and system recovery in no time :-)
With jumpbox solution of the Twiki I could turn my focus to the TWiki devolpment and skip installation of apache server, security settings etc. A great collection of tools/application that just make me happy :-D
Jesper Westendahl - Development ManagerI have had a great experience. Very intuitive and gives me the opportunity to train volunteers without worrying about lost data or destruction of hardware.
Michael Thompson - Not-for-Profit founder/Technology AdminGreat It has made it very easy for me to test all of these cool online apps
Wally Kroeker - Network AdminOverall i find jumpbox VM's to be well thought out and nicely configured. I have evaluated a number of them and have one of the sugarcrm vms in use right now.
Erik Williams - partner IWRKZ LLCGreat! I love how easy and reliable it is.
Sean - DeveloperExcellent; I tried Drupal (sleek and workable) TWiki (way more confusing to use than MediaWiki which we love at the office) and OpenLDAP (LDAP seems so totally designed for something other than what it is used for but the JumpBox allowed me to actually get an LDAP server to work on my network two other VMWare appliances were total failures so this one rocks).
David Baker - PresidentI have played with SugarCRM and vTiger and was very impressed with the ease of JumpBox.
Glendon Kuhns - IT ManagerThe jumpbox stuff is really great. I went ahead last week and purchased the open source subscription . Since then I have redmine, Knowledgetree and vTiger up and running on a Centos5 box running Vmware server 2. I am very pleased with everything. Thanks for making such a great time saver. I am now a big fan of virtual machines. I have one problem though. What am I going to do with all this extra space in my server cabinet? ;)
Dale Gregory - Software Engineer, HJ Harkins Company, Inc.I've been using paper, Notepad and whole websites (and everything in-between) to track bugs, issues and requests from my users, and finally realized that a system like Trac would make my life a lot easier. But the tracking-systems I've looked at, seemed a little intimidating and sort of "overkill", until I installed VMWare Server on my server, and found this release of Trac. I mean, what could be easier? Thank you SO much, for making Trac avalible as a Virtual Appliance! You people ROCK, me and my users are ever so greatful, thank you very much! Warm thanks & regards,
Thomas Boelskifte Admin and Server Oompa-LoompaI like the fact that it does just what it is meant to, no more no less, as it keep the size of the VM to the bare minimium. The user interface (web) is minimalistic but stylish and "to the point" at the same time. The support forum has been very responsive and friendly. I like your product and the business idea behind it. Are you the next Red Hat of the VMs? All the best.
